The 3nd International Conference on Current Problems in Nuclear Physics and Atomic Energy (NPAE-Kyiv2010) will be held from June 7 to June 12, 2010 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The NPAE-Kyiv2010 conference will cover the following topics:

  • Collective processes in atomic nuclei
  • Nuclear reactions
  • Nuclear structure and decay processes
  • Rare nuclear processes
  • Neutron and reactor physics, nuclear data
  • Problems of atomic energy
  • Applied nuclear physics in medicine and industry
  • Experimental facilities and detection techniques

The conference will consist of plenary, parallel and poster sessions. Plenary sessions are composed of invited talks, and parallel sessions consist of invited talks and oral presentations selected from the contributions.

The working language of the Conference is English.

The NPAE-Kyiv2010 conference is organized by the National Academy of Sciences  of Ukraine (NASU, http://www.nas.gov.ua)  the Institute for Nuclear Research of NASU, Kyiv (KINR, http://www.kinr.kiev.ua ) in collaboration with Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (NTSU, http://www.univ.kiev.ua).

Conference site

The Conference will take place at the Institute of Postgraduate Education (IPE)of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, located about 5 km south of downtown (Vasylkivska str., 36, Kyiv).

Conference proceedings

The Proceedings of the Conference will be published by Publishing Department of KINR and will be available on the Conference site after Conference. Proceedings of the previous Conferences (NPAE-Kyiv2006, NPAE-Kyiv2008) can be found on the sites http://www.kinr.kiev.ua/NPAE_Kyiv2006/ and http://www.kinr.kiev.ua/NPAE_Kyiv2008/.

Call for Abstracts

Authors are invited to submit a one page abstract (300-500 words) by 1 March, 2010. The book of abstracts will be issued before the Conference. Abstracts should be sent as attached files to the official Conference e-mail address npae-kyiv2010@kinr.kiev.ua together with a short registration form (please find this form in the end of this Circular). Samples and instructions for preparation of the abstracts can be found in the end of this circular and on the Conference website.

Accommodation

Conference participants can lodge in the hotel complex of the IPE in the single- and double rooms of European standards. The Conference sessions will be held at the same building. Meals (breakfast and/or lunch) will be organized at the IPE upon request (charged extra). The participants can also get accommodation in the 3 stars hotel “MIR” (http://www.hotelmir.kiev.ua) as well in other hotels of Kyiv. A number of luxury hotels will also be available with assistance of the Organizing Committee upon request.
Reservation of accommodation has to be done until 1 May 2010.

Conference fee and registration

Registration fee for participants                                                              250 Euro.
Registration fee for participants from Ukraine and the CIS countries            70 Euro.
Registration fee for accompanying persons                                               70 Euro.
Registration fee includes book of abstracts, coffee breaks, welcome party, conference dinner, social events, book of proceedings (books of abstracts and proceedings for participants).
Limited number of financial supports will be available for students and young scientists.

More detailed information on the Conference will be given in the 2-nd Circular at the beginning of October 2009.
